A preference centre is a form that allows your recipients to control the emails you send them. You could offer them the choice between different categories of content, or to change the frequency they receive emails from you. They could also be used just to check you have the most up to date information in terms of name, location, employer, etc.
You also use a preference centre to gather more information about your recipients in order to send them more tailored content or information about other areas of your business they may be interested in.
A preference centre is a popular option if you have more than one reason to email someone, e.g. newsletters, company updates, events, sales; and where giving the people the option to opt-out of some will prevent them opting out of all.
