Why can't I create a segment based on the date I've chosen?

There could be a few different reasons why a segment can't be generated based on a date value in your list.

The first thing you need to check is if the field that includes the date has been uploaded as a date field when you uploaded that contact list.

For our system to be able to run automations and segment contact lists with date fields, these fields need to be marked at the point of the list upload as dates. There are also a number of different date formats you can choose from.

If you have not specified this field as a date field you will not be able to create a filter that will update and generate because the system will not treat the value in that field as a date, but rather as text.

Another possible reason for failing to create a date based segment could be that the selected date field value is not stored in a format that our system recognises.

If you are choosing to segment based on a system date filed and your segment generates 0 subscribers that would indicate that no one in your contact list matches the rule you have applied.

In that case, you might want to revise the filter rules and conditions.
